When I worked for a software company my girlfriend and I would always sit together at lunch just about everyday and talk just about everything. Many of our conversations consisted of traveling even though we were on a tight budget. For three years our budget gap seemed to tighten more closely every pay period.
Our nearly ‘fixed income’ caused us to stay at the same job and in the same state. We continued to discuss traveling for three years while we enjoyed what we could afford, “eating lunch.” Pondering about what would be a good place to go, we talked about what we loved in life and then tried to decipher what would be the best place to go to for a visit, or even to live somewhere according to our desired wishes.
My friend, who is very conservative, wished to go somewhere exotic, clean, rich, and almost crime free. She mentioned Milan, but that seemed like a fantasy and very pricey. She could not think of what place it would be that would fall into her categorized wishes, so again we just kept wishing, talking, and hoping until 2017. Excited, my friend, in February of 2017 was able to return to America with a huge smile. I, also excited upon her return asked, “How was your trip?” Still, almost in disbelief that she had been, she exclaimed,
The Jumeirah hotels and resorts where I stayed were absolutely so…beautiful. I had the chance to ride a camel, and also have dinner under the moonlight in the middle of the desert, which was also beautiful and a delightful experience. I even had the opportunity to participate in a polo match; I felt like royalty.
Finally, on my last night of my adventurous stay in my unforgettable one-and-only 7-star hotel in the whole world, I partied on the rooftop at a ‘kicking’ party. It was a blast! Fortunately, hope and hard work allowed me to earn top performer and a visit the place I always imagined, but could not put a name on it now known to me as Dubai.
Dubai is definitely a great place. I loved the people (they were kind and sincere), the city (it was beyond clean), and the food (it was delicious). I would go back with any reservations or hesitation.
Based on my friend’s experience keep talking to your co-workers at lunch and plan your dream of going somewhere. It can happen. Soon, you could be in Dubai or a place of your choice. Work, eat, talk, and explore.
