Vidcon 2018 is right around the corner and will be taking place in Anaheim, California from June 20th to the 24th. This con has a pre-party, a concert series, its own Prom night, and a Disney Day. One of the headers will be DJ Marshmello who will perform at the YouTube OnStage event this year. That’s not all, there will be tons of featured creators such Thomas Sander, Domics, The Odd1sout, Liza Koshy, and many more. The 20th is the kick-off day with the Industry pre-party at the Hilton and later that evening the Hollister Concert Series will start that night at the AwesomenessTV Festival Stage.
Vidcon isn’t like any other con out there. Vidcon is a convention for the YouTube platform. Not only is it a place to meet your favorite Youtuber but it’s also a place where you can learn how the whole industry works. Vidcon offers professional advice to people looking into becoming a Youtuber whether they want to be a singer, a vlogger, a beauty guru, or animator. The con holds specific panels that can teach you so many things about working in this field of internet entertainment.
They will have panels to teach you about what type of content works best for an audience, how to deal with multi-media platforms, how to use your channel to support change, how to network, how to get sponsored, and other important advice. There are several different tracks at the con that are for specific fans. The Community Track is for the fans that want to meet their favorite Youtubers and enjoy the festivities. The Creator Track is for the fans who want to become video makers and the Industry Track is for companies building their business in the online video creating world. But this con isn’t an all work no play zone.
Saturday night is Prom night and the theme for this year’s prom is Twix. If you’ve seen those commercials about the battling left and right side Twix and have picked a side, then you can show it off here. Right Twix fans are all about showing off their fierce side with some fiery red fashion while the more chill Left Twix fans will be showing their regal style with some gold style clothes. The con goes out with a bang on Disney Day where creators and fans can go to Disneyland. This isn’t a private event and you do have to separately buy park tickets; however, con-goers get a special discount on their ticket price.
