It’s the first day of 2019 and there’s a lot of new art, entertainment, fashion, music, and more to look forward to this new year. We get to look forward to films like Avengers End Game, the Palm Spring Film Festival that will be held in a few days, the 50th Woodstock Anniversary festival, but what fashion trends will be popular in 2019. Obviously, there’s no definite since fashion trends can change throughout the year, but there are five predictions of what could be popular in 2019. Most of these predictions are coming from the Pinterest app. Some of these five include faux leather earrings, popcorn textured cardigans, all over sequin jumpsuits, silk and satin tops, and knit pleated skirts.
With more and more fashion companies ditching real fur and leather it makes sense that faux leather is becoming quite popular as more celebrities and shoppers buy faux leather products. This trend seems to also have been brought on by Duchess Meghan Markel who is always seen wearing eco-friendly clothes. The popcorn cardigan has already been popular earlier this winter and is called a popcorn sweater because it obviously looks like popcorn. Honestly, in my opinion, that style sounds just as horrible as the infamous popcorn ceiling design. Up next on the list is the all over sequin jumpsuits for all those sparkle queens out there.
However, it seems this trend will die down after a while since sequins are more for festivities than anything else so, we may see a decline for this trend during the spring. Silk and satin tops are becoming popular once again like they were back in the early 2000s. The only problem with these tops is if you don’t wash them right you could ruin them will all those frayed spots. Or you can create your own trends and call them the popcorn tops. Knit pleated skirts in all lengths have grown in popularity by 75% due to people wanting to wear more comfortable clothing in 2019. It’ll be interesting to see all the trends that will come and go this year.
