I've been watching the Nexflix original horror comedy, Santa Clarita Diet, for a few days now and it's actually pretty good. The web television series was created and executive produced by Victor Fresco. The series was also executive produced by Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant who also star as the main characters Sheila and Joel Hammond. IF you've been hesitant to watch the show, just watch a few episode and see how you like it. The show reminds me of the 2015 CW series iZombie. The show was about a medical resident who was turned into a Zombie and after she started to have psychic visions whenever she ate someones brains.
This show however make the concept of being a zombie a little more quirky as housewife turned zombie Sheila Hammond balances craving flesh and being a suburban real estate agent. Sheila and husband Joel get into a lot of criminal activity to feed her cravings and also trying to keep a low profile. They go through many obstacles to remain normal, find a cure, and make sure Sheila doesn't eat the neighbors. As I've watched the show I've gotten draw into the crazy things the couple get into. So far the show has done well with ratings since it's release in 2017 and is now on it's second season, which was released March 23.
The first season of the shoe received a 75% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and got praise on the cast and the comedy within the show. I'm sure the approval rating for the second season will be just as high because the show was developed really great so far. The show does a great spin on the classic horror concept, zombies, and the cast of the show completes the package of the show. It's a show you can definitely get into if you haven't watched it already. There's even already talk of the series being renewed for a third season in early 2019. Here's the trailer below, maybe it'll give you readers a little more incentive to check it out.
