So this week on fun finds while searching through Netflix, I came across the movie, They Look Like People (2015). Now, this was found in the psychological thrillers, recommended to me by Netflix and let me just say, I give this movie so many props! I couldn’t stop watching it, as it kept my attention with the real life scenarios portrayed by the characters created by Perry Blackshear. I’d also like to add this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is a movie I highly recommend.
The film follows Wyatt (MacLeod Andrews) after a break up with his fiancé and moves to New York. He casually bumps into a friend Christian (Evan Dumouchel) outside of his apartment. That night is when he receives the first phone call, saying that there are “things” taking over people, but you cannot tell. Only by a sound that Wyatt continues to hear. The next call states there is going to be a war, and that he needs to get out of town, and trust no one.
I don’t want to spoil this film, so that’s all I’m going to say about the plot, but the acting, the cinematography, and the plot are all amazing, and I think It’s something that everyone should check out, or at least try to.
