Good morning Femm readers. This morning I wanted to share with you guys an interview I had a while back with two local authors at a meetup at my town’s library. I also ran into them again at Pensacon last month. These two authors would be T.S. Barnett and S. Usher Evans. Before I get into the interview portion of this blog I would like to share about each other’s works.
T.S. Barnett is a writer of supernatural and science fiction books. Her most known series is Beast of Birmingham. The first book in the series focuses on the two characters Sam and Alicia. Sam is a werewolf with no conscious what so ever. He’s attacked and killed plenty of victims. He only cares when he’ll get his next drink, his next woman, and his next enjoyable time; Alicia became his next “good” time. Alicia is a Marine who had returned home and felt lonely and was drawn in by Sam’s southern charm, that is until he attacked her. She manages to escape but is obviously having a tough time dealing with what had happened to her.
One-night Alicia is approached by a strange man who convinces her to become a werewolf hunter. At first, Sam doesn’t care that there’s a hunter after him nor does he remember Alicia. Sam also doesn’t know that he and his unfortunate accomplices have attracted the attention of a secret organization whose job is to protect the innocent from creatures like them. Furthermore, Sam doesn’t realize that he’s also leading himself and Alicia into the hands of a dangerous man with dark deeds. Soon the both will be dragged into an even bigger conflict than either of them had bargained for. There are three books in this series which you can find on Amazon, Kindle, and Goodreads.com. The first book is called Under the Devil’s Wing, the second is Into the Bear’s Dean, and the last is Down the Endless Road. Barnett has a few more books out as well. She has a Facebook page if you’d like to check her and her other books out.
S. Usher Evans has written a respectable number of books herself as well. She also has a Facebook page and you can find her books on Amazon, Kindle, and Goodreads.com. Evans is the author of the Madion War Trilogy, the Razia series, Empath, and the Lexie Carrigan series. She has a new series out right now called, Demon Spring. The first book, Resurgence, is out now and the second one, Revival, will be out May 18th but you can pre-order it now on her Facebook page. The first book is about a demon hunter named Jack Grenard, whose wife has been murdered by the very demons he was hunting. Struggling with the loss of his wife, his friend and partner Cam Macarro suggests he moves to Atlanta, Georgia to have a start at a new life.
While there, Jack must overcome his loss and re-find the man he was before his tragedy. One night during a routine hunt Jack and Cam come across a demon that saves lives instead of killing them. All the while the demons of Atlanta are preparing for the quadrennial uprising of their fellow demons. To make matters worse, there’s talk that the king demon known as Bael will appear for the first time in over a century. Jack and Cam must figure out the truth of the female demon they’ve met before the uprising happens. These books sound amazing, right? Well, that’s all for part one. My next blog will focus on the questions I asked while meeting them at the Library function. ‘til next time.
