The Cost of Things
An exciting global economy allows some of us to easily enjoy the luxury and satisfaction of life. While we are able to enjoy these things, they can be expensive. Entertainment, food, clothing and vacation are many things we live for. Prices for the mentioned “things” and other “things” rarely seem to decrease. They tend rise daily. It costs to live.
How Much Does it Cost?
While we love seeing the latest movies on a big screen in a theatre, the average price of a movie is about $15.00 per person, not let alone the price of food (a meal and a drink) is about $25.00. This equals $40.00 per person, which could fill up tank of gas in some smaller vehicles. Dining out and shopping are also great entertainment, yet they can be pricey as well. Consider dining out, the average price for a plate for dinner and a beverage is nearly $30. Lastly, shopping can be expensive as it is required for many things.
What is it (What is included)?
There are benefits to spending for the things we love. Of course they make us happy and forget the many that things do not. Vendors become richer, and we the buyers are satisfied. In a sense that spending keeps us psychologically full of joy.
What are the Extra Costs to Think About?
Our basic necessities outweigh our many unnecessary desires. Food, clothing and shelter are what we should be focusing our attention on, rather than attempting to buy new things and look rich or seem rich. If we are spending our money on extra items and cannot afford basic necessities, then we should consider cutting back. Happiness is important, but common sense is also. So, we should think about making wise decisions when considering being happy or without, which could make us unhappy.
What are Some Tips?
Usually we dread to think about budgeting. In order to still enjoy life, with decreasing our spending, we make changes. For example we can have social activities at our homes. Small or big gatherings are always fun. Instead of spending money on $40.00 movie (basically), watching movies at home would be a great substitute. Also reading books can be a great source of enjoyment while it also improves reading skills; joining book clubs are even exciting. If we think before spending, we can balance life, our income and our social lives.
How Can I Save Money?
While prices continue to increment, we have to make wise choices. So, we must first decide what is most important. In reality, food, clothing and shelter are a must. So, we can obviously put those first on our list when spending. Though we need basic necessities, we also need joy to fulfill our lives. In turn, we should always include our interest and hobbies.
Because life is complex when it comes to finances, establishing a budget is always an excellent idea before considering to even spending a penny. In addition with budgeting, it is wise to review our “wants” and “needs” along with our spending habits. Save receipts, bank statements, financial records, then decipher what is a “want” or a “need” Once you have decided which one it is, then you can determine how to spend in the future. Most of all we should not be full greed; instead we should be wise and sensible with our money.
