Disneyland and Disneyworld are expanding the Star Wars section of the parks by building more rides and calling it Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But that’s not all they’re also going to have a new John Williams theme for the park. The two new rides are called “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” and “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.” The first ride allows guests to have a hand on experience to fly Han Solo’s famous ship by having three different pilot roles. Much like their Mission to Mars Ride.
Even though the first ride is newer the second one sadly sounds like a repeat of the original “Star Tours” ride at the park. Basically park goers end up in a battle between the resistance and the First Order where they run into Kylo Ren. Much like the original ride where guests fly into the fray of the Rebels fighting the Empire while trying to destroy the Death Star. In addition to the park expansion, Walt Disney World Resorts will be building a Star Wars Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The Edge opens up in Disneyland summer 2019 and the one is Disney World will open Fall 2019. It is not known at this time when the hotel will open up.
