Hey Femm readers. I’m here to talk about Say Yes to the Dress’s Randy Fenoli. Fenoli is the head fashion director and consultant at Kleinfeld Bridal Salon in New York City, New York. Fenoli has always felt a passion for helping brides to find the right gown for their special day. Mainly, a gown that would help the bride feel beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. He also had a desire for fashion when he was only nine years old. He went to the Fashion Institute of Technology, FIT, where he won several awards for designs and achievements.
After working at Kleinfeld's for years Fenoli states on the show that he always saw brides come in who wanted a high-end couture looking dress but couldn’t afford it. So, if you’ve been watching this season’s Say Yes to the Dress then you know that Fenoli just got back into design. He wanted to make these couture dresses for brides but for a fraction of the cost. The cheapest is about $7,500 and can cost up to $23,000. Sometimes, depending on the designer, a dress could cost $300,000 or more. That’s why Fenoli is only selling his around $1,700 to $2,000 dollars.
Throughout this season of the show, there have been various stages of Fenoli’s designs. He first talked to his friends and co-workers about his idea and went to his bosses on the show and pitched his idea to them. They were very encouraging and asked him to make three dresses first to see how well they would sell in the store before he launched a full line. During the next few episodes, the audience would see Randy’s sketches and three final designs that went out on the floor. Several people bought his dresses on the show and off the show to the point that he was approved to launch his whole line. During the most recent episode, Fenoli premiered his new line during a fashion show event where his Brandi gown was the show-stopping finale.
I watched the episode myself and let me tell you something. Those gowns are gorgeous! There isn’t one that I didn’t like. Even the ones I personally wouldn’t wear were breathtaking. I even cried a little when Fenoli cried because I was so happy for him. He was ecstatic to get back into design and that the fashion show was a big hit. Everyone loved his dresses and enjoyed the show. Well, that’s all for this blog post. ‘til next time.
