Salutations to the matriarchs of Mother Earth! We can give respect to the women of Africa and the African diaspora. A huge “thanks’’ goes out to our dominant leaders who are responsible for empowering all on the earth. Respect for them is well deserved.
Since the beginning of civilization African women have exuded great strength from tribal to royal queens not limited to Cleopatra, Sheba, Nefertiti, Amina, and Yaa Asantewaa who all supported their kingdoms and families as well as conquered states, nations, and countries. Their strength was not only used for power, but instead to rule by a way of love, inspiration, wisdom, pride, and faith to build unity and a wealth of knowledge. They stood on the forefront of the earth while carried, throughout the middle passage to places such as Brazil, the Caribbean, and North America to represent the original matriarch from Africa upon Mother Earth, then recreate her in various fashions carrying on the spirit that led to today’s matriarch of Mother Earth.
Through pain and glory today’s women of Africa and their sister nations can be glorified as leaders just as they were in the past. They represent “newness” within this changing world. Their minds are dynamic as they can be credited for having voices to be heard and honored such as Michelle Obama. Also, their beauty is recognized via their creative style and different hues and shapes they hold.
They all hold significance in many areas – the fashion industry, sports, business, technology, and education – areas of empowerment. There is hardly anything that our Mother Earth matriarchs cannot do and conquer. They are beautiful from the depth of their soul to their skin. As they uplift the Earth, so we shall lift them up in honor. Forever, salute them for marking a lifetime purpose for everyone on Mother Earth.
