The late singer and versatile artist, Prince, has hundreds of songs that have yet to be released, marinating in a vault of his estate. Since his passing, no sounds have left this vault, until recently. His estate released a remastered version of 1984 "Nothing Compare's to You". More recently, unreleased rehearsal footage was also shared for his version of song.
"...Prince and The Revolution from summer of 1984. It was in this very room at Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse in Eden Prarie, Minnesota that prince created and commited to tape one of his most beloved and oconic compositions, which six years later would become a worldwide hit for Sinead O'Connor.. - The Prince Estate via Tidal
According to Vogue, the song was originally made popular by Sinead O'Connor in 1990, but Prince wrote and composed his own version of the track with background singer, Susanna Melvoin. Prince's funk pop/soul group, Family, included the song on their self titled album in 1985, however, it was never promoted heavily or released a single.
