The TV series Nashville that starred Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, and Connie Britton is being turned into a Broadway play. Apparently, Tony Award Winner Scott Delman will be the producer of the show’s production. Delman told reports that the show itself had the perfect elements to become a play with its great characters and themes. This play will in contain Broadway’s first score of contemporary country music. According to a source, Nashville is a part of a lineup of shows and films from Lionsgate that will become plays.
The people at Lionsgate are excited about the project and future ones as well. They see it as taking live music to the next level. At this time there haven’t been many reports if any of the original cast will go to Broadway or if they’ll hire others to play the characters. It’s also not known at this time what the play will be about and if it’ll focus on where the storyline was in the series or if they’ll create something new. It’ll also be interesting to see if they come up with any new songs for the play.
