On April 20, actress Allison Mack was arrested after being charged for playing large role in a cult that turned women into sex slaves. She was ranked second in the cult's hierarchy and worked alongside cult leader, Keith Raniere, founder of the multi-level marketing organization NXIVM. Mack has been convicted of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy and forced labor conspiracy.
The 35-year-old actress starting her career in 1989 with a role in the television film I Know My First Name Is Steven. She was most known for her role as Chloe Sullivan in the CW series, Smallville. She also had a few film roles such as Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves (1997), and The Ant Bully (2006).
It is said that victims of the cult were used as slaves to perform sexual acts on cult leader, Raniere. Mack was seen as "the pimp" of the operation since she helped recruit the girls and other acts that she received financial and other benefits for. As of now, Raniere has pleaded not guilt on all charges and the court date has been set for October 1.
All women who are involved within this case definitely need justice. In recent news, problems of people stepping outside of their sexual boundaries have become more notable. Many people are getting arrested and charged with things related to rape and other sexual misconduct, like sec trafficking. There are a lot of dark secrets that go on in Hollywood that are beginning to come to light. I just hope any decisions that are made the courts are favorable results for the victims and their families.
