On January 9, America's Next Top Model premiered the twenty-fourth cycle of the modeling competition. I decided to begin watching this season because creator and original host Tyra Banks decided to comeback. When cycle 23 was aired Rita Ora began hosting ANTM, and nothing against Rita Ora, but no one can replace Tyra Banks. With the creation of this show Tyra Banks not only changed the lives of many aspiring models, but also changed the world of modeling.
The season has had some interesting challenges and they got some great shots of many of the contestants of course. As far as judging I believe bringing back Ashley Graham, Drew Elliott, and Law Roach was a great idea. Since the season is soon to come to the end, I'd like to discuss the two models that I'm now rooting for. All 15 contestants were beautiful and had great potential but there was a few who stood out among the crowd.
The first contestant who's talent caught my attention is Rio Summers. Throughout the competition she has received mixed reviews from the judges, but overall they want her to bring it more. Aside from her raw talent within the modeling competition, she's also from the same hometown as me Detroit, Michigan. Many of the other girls in the competition can see she's one of their biggest threats and got some negative critiques from them, but she doesn't too much let it phase her. I believe if she gives it her all these last couple episodes she could definitely take home the "W".
The second contestant that I've been rooting for is body positive model Khrystyana Kazakova. She is one of the models breaking the size barrier within the competition and she's giving everyone a run for their money. She has won many of the challenges given to the contestants and has been awarded "best photo" multiple times during the round of eliminations. I believe she's ready in all aspects to be the next winner of America's Next Top Model, but we shall see.
