Hello to all my Femm fans who are apart of the horror/slasher enthusiast club. I definitely have somewhat of a treat, depending on your thoughts about the film Happy Death Day. The ending of the film left many in the audience with many unanswered questions. This lead to talk about a sequel to the film, and director Christopher Landon was already processing ideas. According to HollywoodReporter.com he says "I don't wanna jinx it." Now CinemaBlend.com dropped the news Tuesday that it was in the works.
Last year on October 13th, Blumhouse Productions released Happy Death Day, and provided a great spin to the slasher film game. The film starred Jessica Rothe (Tree Gelbman), Israel Broussard (Carter Davis), and Ruby Spengler ( Lori Spengler) who all are pretty fresh face in the genre. They definitely earned the spotlight in the film because it was pretty great.
The film started with a $4.8 million dollar budget and the film was not expected to do well. It pulled in $1 million during it's Thursday preview and earned $11.6 on the first night. The storyline of the film had so many elements of personal growth, plot twist, and murder. There wasn't one moment in the film that I wasn't on the edge of my seat just to know who the killer really was. The film did fairly well with critics receiving a 71% approval rate on RottenTomatoes.com , which I think should be a little higher.
If you haven't seen the film, I definitely recommend going to because it was worth it. Or you could wait until it hits RedBox because their rentals are pretty adorable and convenient. For those who have seen it, do you think Happy Death Day 2 will be as good? I'm interested in knowing what the storyline will consist of and see if the plot twist are as good as the first. Not much else has been released but it will start production soon in New Orleans. So just for an overview here's the trailer for the first film Happy Death Day.
