Michael Myers truly can’t stay dead because they’re making another film that will be a sequel to this 40th Anniversary remake. That’s right Scott Teems is talking about writing a sequel to the movie. Teems has written two Stephen King adaptions for Blumhouse and now could be writing a sequel for David Gordon Green’s franchise. According to a source producer Jason Blum, actors Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, and Andi Matichak are all expected to return. Blumhouse hasn’t given any comments but it seems that the talks are real.
There have already been several movies in the original series, two remakes, and now this, what would this even be called the second Halloween reboot phase since the 2007 and 2009 remakes failed to reboot the franchise? I don’t even know at this point. I understand having a 40th Anniversary film but with the ending of that film, they should have just let it go. I know Michael can’t die but the ending in the recent film felt like the whole thing came to a full circle closing. I’m not sure how die-hard fans are going to react to this new either. Will they be excited or annoyed that another company is squeezing a franchise to death just to get every drop of money they can from it.
