Exciting news for all Potter-heads out there. Universal’s Harry Potter World is adding a brand new roller coaster to the park. This new coaster is called Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. That’s right the motorbike Hagrid rides/flies in is being turned into a ride. This ride will open this June 13th. The ride will be located near the Hogsmeade Village on the Islands of Adventure.
The ride will take fans on a high flying adventure with some run-ins of some rare magical creatures. None of the creatures have been confirmed but most predict that Hagrid’s animal friends Aragog the giant spider, Buckbeak the hippogriff, and Norbert the dragon will be some of the creatures that will be featured on the ride. For those readers that don’t know who these creatures are these are the animal friends of Hagrid that are brought up in different books and movies of the series. Also, Hagrid is the son of a giant mom and a human father. He is the gamekeeper of Hogwarts and even teaches a class called Care of Magical Creatures.
Originally the bike had belonged to Harry’s godfather Sirius Black who then gave it to Hagrid. In the books, Hagrid rides in on the bike when he locates Harry in the first book and is tasked with bringing him to Hogwarts for the first time. The bike also plays a major role in the Deathly Hallows when the gang is trying to escape the Death Eaters that are sent to kill Harry while at his aunt and uncle’s house. Harry hides in the side cart while Remus Lupin and the others throw the Death Eaters off of Harry’s trail. Thankfully the ride won’t be as hair raising as that original part from the book/movie.
