Happy National Grilled Cheese day! Yes, that exists. Do you live in the New York Area? Do you love cheese and bread? Sweet! According to the New York Daily news, Murray's Cheese is getting in on the action for this holiday by handing out vouchers for Murray's melt for the first 100 people to buy something from their store in the West Village (254 Bleecker Street) So if you wanna try your luck and get an amazing Murray's melt go for it! If not you can still get a great sandwich for about $7!
Each Monday in April the store, in the West Village location, is offering a different type of grilled cheese! So it's definitelya fun way to shake up your Monday's.
The line up is as follows
April 9-15: The French Onion Sheep, made with Pyrenees Brebis (sheep's milk cheese) with Three Little French figs Onion Confit, food jargon for the technique of cooking the traditional duck meat originally in its own fats but, it's a technique that can be implemented with other foods, like these French figs that I assume has a nice light fruity flavor that really elevates the creamy richness of the Pyrenees Brebis so the cheese is not over-saturating your taste buds with its creaminess and the onions that give it that nice savory smoky taste to still make it savory for lunch, just a guess. The French Onion Sheep also comes with cornichons, pickled cucumber and fried onions on a sourdough bread;
The Garden Goat (April 16- 22) , made with the shop's young goat gouda with kale , shallots tomatoes, and sunny side egg on sourdough bread, and The Truffalo Buffalo (April 23-29), made with Murray’s Buffalo Mozzarella and Murray’s Parmigiano Reggiano with truffle pesto and white truffle oil on sourdough bread.
