For all those who are awaiting for something else new to be released on Netflix, soon it will be over. On April 27, Netflix will be releasing a new comedy starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. The Week Of will be the last film installment of Sandler's 4 movie deal with Netflix. For those who may not know, I'm a big fan of Adam Sandler and even previously used him as the topic for a post (thank-you-mr-sandler.html). So I've excited to see the comedic talents that both Sandker and Chris Rock will bring to their characters and the film.
The film will follow the mishaps that happen the week leading up to the wedding of Adam Sandlers daughter played by Allison Strong and Chris Rock's son played by Roland Buck III . I think will do well with the comedic tone that will be set by writer and direct Robert Smigel. Smigel was most known for his work as Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog. Starting his career writing for Saturday Night Live, I believe he will develop some great comedic antidotes to the story.
Roland Buck and Allison Strong have both starred in many television series and landed small roles over the years. This film could be a great out film for them for more comedy roles in the future. I think with Rock and Sandler as their co-stars the character connection will be great. The story line mixed with the cast of the film has great potential.
I think the film will be another gem that was given to us by Happy Madison Productions. It was also be another great film to watch when you're looking for something new to fill your comedy needs. If you haven't seen the trailer check it out below. Will The Week Of be in your watch list?
