It’s no surprise that two years after the death of the cult leader Charles Manson that Hollywood is making a film about him, his followers, and murders. The title of the film is called Charlie Says and the film stars Dr. Who actor, Matt Smith, who will be playing Manson. The plot will focus on the three young women who were a part of Mason’s murders. However, the story itself will be told through the eyes of a graduate student who was sent to teach them while they were sentenced to life in prison after they didn’t receive the death penalty. It is through this student that the audience will see these women’s side of the story and how they begin to face the reality of what they had done.
This film will be out sometime this May and will be rated R. There are two trailer spots that are out right now, and both can be viewed on IMDb.com. This film is being done by the writers and creators of the 2000 horror film American Psycho that starred Christian Bale. Manson was the leader of the cult that called themselves the Manson Family. Manson himself had always been in and out of jail most of his life before he created his cult that he persuaded to murder for him. He died in prison back in November of 2017.
