So, Sunday night the ACM Award show was on and there were many winners in each category. Best New Male Vocalist was Brett Young, New Female was Lauren Alaina, Best Vocal Group was Old Dominion, and Miranda Lambert won Best female vocalist yet again. But the main person I want to talk about that also won Best Vocal Event with Keith Urban is Carrie Underwood. Underwood had performed her new single, Cry Pretty, for the first time on stage and screen that night and was a bit frazzled from the whole thing.
This was her first stage appearance after she had injured herself back in November; an injury that lead to wrist surgery and forty face stitches that caused her to get plastic surgery. Underwood was very nervous what people would think of her face and became a bit emotional after the performance. One could also tell she wasn’t prepared to walk back out on stage to receive the award with Urban for their duo performance of the song, Fighter. She even skipped the red carpet because she didn’t want to be bombarded with questions about the accident on her face. I for one believe that Underwood has and always will be a very stunning and talented woman no matter what. Also, I didn’t notice any scars what so ever.
It just goes to show how much pressure is put on celebs to always look like a flawless piece of art like a sculpted god/goddess. Underwood has also just recently released her song, Champions ft. Ludacris a few months back for the opening of the Super Bowl. She’s also had some success in selling her CALIA by Carrie fitness clothing line. Not only that but she’s back in the studio recording a new album; which will be her first since 2015. She was mostly on tour in 2016 and after her injuries, she had some forced relaxation in 2017. Not much is known about the album at this time only the single from it, Cry Pretty. That’s all Femm heads. ‘til next time.
