Two hot names right now in entertainment: Cardi B and Chadwick Boseman dominated Saturday Night Live. Cardi B, who recently released her album that went gold within 24 hours, was thoroughly hilarious. She appeared her normal self, with attitude and charm in full effect. There was a skit in Cardi's honor called "Aidy B" where "Aidy Bryant" is inspired by Cardi's fearless attitude and sharp tongue. Aidy goes off on a hilarious tangent, with overly aggressive responses to general conversation. Cardi B performed "Bodak Yellow" and "Bartier Cardi", wearing a Cruella De Ville- esque feather outfit. She began the first set, spitting Bodak Yellow partly in Spanish. After a bit of classic SNL satirical political commentary, Cardi performed again; this time singing "Be Careful" (from her new album "Invasion of Privacy") wearing a white figure fitting gown, that revealed her pregnant.
Let's not forget Chadwick Boseman, who hosted SNL. I'll admit I am so used to Boseman be the Black Panther, hearing him speak as he normally would was a little strange. He, of course, was in various skits with punny Black Panther jokes. There were some moments he would accidentally revert to T'Challa's accent for a split second and go back to Boseman. Then again, he may still be in character. After all, it has only been two months since the release of Black Panther and just before the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Boseman reminds the audience that he multiple historical figures, including the late James Brown and Jackie Robinson. Boseman wrapped up his monologue with a James Brown inspired dance break.
