The annual Billboard Music Awards show will be airing this Saturday on NBC at 8/7 Central. This year’s host is the award-winning Kelly Clarkson. The show will be in Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena where most music awards, like country music’s AMC awards, have been held. The show will be for three hours and is named after the top chart that helps to promote the hottest music throughout the country.
The opening act will be performed by pop singer Ariana Grande. This performance will be her first awards show performance since the Manchester terrorist attack after her concert last year. Again, there will be a lot of upgraded security for this festival after Vegas itself was attacked by the domestic terrorist at the Route 91 shooting from this past October. There will be police dogs, drones, artificial intelligence-directed cameras, and even military-style tactics as well. With the doubling of security protocol outdoor concert tickets have gone up in price to help cover the expense of security.
