Backstabbing for Beginners is a film based on actual events of the United Nations’ dealings with Iraq’s oil reserves. The plot focuses on the two main characters Michael and Pasha, Theo James and Ben Kingsley, who work for the U.N. program known as, Oil for Food, where the U.N. would use the money from selling Iraq’s oil to provide philanthropic aid such a providing food, clean water, medical aid, and other necessities. But this all changes when it has been discovered by the C.I.A. that the program is being used for private gain from the inside of the program.
Michael is approached by the C.I.A. to keep aware of what’s going on with certain meetings, paperwork, and to keep his eyes on his partner Pasha. Pasha seems like he cares about his country but is probably helping in a way that is wrong. Tensions begin to build up because of this conspiracy theory leaving Michael concerned on who he can trust. This film is being done by LIONSGATE and will be expected in theaters on April 27th. This film will also be rated R. That’s all for this blog post ‘til next time Femm readers.
