I would like to use this post to share with my readers some of the best episodes of one of the best shows. Created in 1999, the show has been running and generating lifelong fans with over 200 episodes aired, multiple movies, and many other franchises, Spongebob Squarepants has become one of the most successful cartoons. When it first aired it passed Pokémon as one of the highest rated children's series. Being the longest-running series on Nikelodeon, I would like to share my top 3 episodes of Spongebob that can be watched and laughed at more than once. These are in no particular order because they all had me laughing pretty hard.
The first on the list is episode 1 of season 1 "Tea at the Treedome" released in 1999. This episode followed when Spongebob first met Sandy and decided to go over to her Treedome for tea. Once he gets there he realizes that Sandy breathes in air instead of water and he tries to figure out a way to stay alive without water. A good bit of my favorite episodes are from the first season, but the comedic level was at an all time high. It gets even better when Patrick comes in to try to save Spongebob and ends up shriveled up with Spongebob from lack of water. Here's one of the most memorable moments from the episode.
Next on the list is episode 12 of season 3, "Chocolate with Nuts" released in 2002. This episode followed Spongebob and Patrick as they sold chocolate bars in attempt to be entrepreneurs. After receiving one of Squidward's Fancy Living Digest magazines, they realize that they want to live the "fancy life." As they are on their journey of selling the chocolate they endure many interesting customers and one who just screams "CHOCOLATE!" most of the episode. The highlight of the episode though is in the clip below..
The final choice on my list is episode 2 of season 2, "Bubblestand" released 1999. This episode showed us the art of bubble blowing and how great Spongebob's technique was. During the episode he sent up a stand to give bubble blowing lessons. Squidward, being the hater that he is, tries to get Spongebob to shut down his bubble stand until his interest is peaked. After trying to impress Spongebob and Patrick, Spongebob lays out the blueprint for bubble blowing for all to see.
I feel like Spongebob is a cartoon that will never get old and creator Stephen Hillenburg gave us animation gold.
