If you're looking for something to do Mother's Day weekend, why not take a trip to the theaters to see Breaking In. There's no better way of celebrating moms then by releasing a movie about a single mother that can kick butt. What makes the film even better is that it stars Gabrielle Union (playing Shaun Russell) , who also helped produce the film. The director being James McTeigue, who directed the 2012 crime thriller, The Raven, is definitely a man with talent. I believe the development and production of this movie will be amazing and have a lot of twists and turns within.
Gabrielle Union has been rising to the top as an actress since her start in 1999 with her role in She's All That. Although most of us have been a fan of hers since 2000 with her break out role in Bring It On. As far as her film record, she definitely hasn't gotten the recognition that she deserves. She has however gotten many nominations and awards for her performance in movies like Deliver Us from Eva (2003), which she won the BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a box office movie. She was also nominated for Best Actress at the BET awards for her role in one of my favorite movies, Bad Boys II (2003) . Then nominated 5 more times between 2012-2016 for her roles in Think Like A Man (2012), In Our Nature (2012), Think Like A Man Too (2014) , Top Five (2014), and The Birth of A Nation (2016).
Rising star Ajiona Alexus also has a role in the film as the daughter of Union's character, Jasmine Russell. She began her acting career in 2013 with a some television roles in The Rickey Smiley Show (2012-14), Empire (2016-17), and really got her break out role in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why (2017-18). She got her first large movie roles this year with films like Family Blood, a American horror film that will be released on Netflix May 4. Acrimony, which was just released on March 30 and has already made $17 million in box office sales. At only 22 she is becoming a force to be reckoned with and it will be interested to see what work she will be getting into the rest of the year and in her career.
I think the film will do very well in box office sales and overall. If you haven't seen the trailer, check it out below. Will you make a date with your mom Mother's Day weekend to see it?
Are you ready to meet some friends on the other side? Care to know what the cards will tell about your fate or what the lines on your palms mean? Are you a fan of magic of any kind good or possibly bad? What about being a fan of anything Supernatural? Said no to these, well then do you love live music, art, and food? If you said yes, then I’ve got news for you. New Orleans, Louisiana will be having its Voodoo festival again this fall from October 26th to the 28th. The festival has been around for twenty years and this year is the 20th anniversary.
The festival is located at City Park at the Festival Grounds Reunion Shelter. People of all ages are welcomed to the fest. Kids ten and under get in for free with an adult. There are three different ticket packages available. The general admission packet, the VIP, and the Platinum. Tickets and other information are on the festival website that I will share below. There will be over 70 bands on four stages throughout the festival. There will be food brought in from local and regional restaurants with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free food options. Also, there will be a Merch Church that will have hand crafted items created by dozens of artists.
The festival will also have interactive art installations, sponsor areas will have prizes, and bars and beverages will be included at different vendor spots like the Brew Dat Craft Beer tent. Let’s not forget the carnival rides and the Mortuary Haunted Experience. Sounds like so much fun, right? One day I hope I can travel to different Halloween like festivities such as this one across America. I want to go to this festival, to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in Disney World, I want to visit Salem, Sleepy Hallow, and any other place that’s either big on Halloween or anything supernatural. Well, that’s all for this blog post. ‘til next time.
Hey, Femmers! As a Colorado resident that's visiting Arizona - writing about the Rockies going 0-2 stings. The Rockies have lost their second consecutive game of the season. So, hopefully, only up from here.
Lefty Tyler Anderson was not the game MVP, that's for sure. Walking four in less than three innings is something you can only blame on yourself. Lets hope that the Rockies starting pitchers can learn from this and move forward and upward.
The Rockies play the Diamondbacks again tonight, the lineup changed and they will be starting with a right handed pitcher for the first time this season.

In a global world full of mysterious wonders and magnificent cultures we cannot afford not to travel. Daydreaming is not enough. Climbing Niagara Falls and walking the Great Wall of China must take place. So, start traveling with a purpose.
Embrace someone you love, and take he or she on a journey with you. Choose somewhere hot or cold, but make sure your heart stays warm. New Zealand is a perfect place. It is known for its blue skies and mountains, and grasslands. The twin glaciers Fox and Franz Josef, south of the Island’s West Coast are strikingly breathtaking and scenic. They are a “must see.”
If the city moves you opposed to boulders and glaciers, then try Queenstown. It is an upscale metropolitan city. Like Paris and New York, fashion is unquestionably stylish. There are endless boutiques on the avenues to choose from along with cafes and bars. If you need to rest from the all the shopping you will do, vineyards, golf courses, and luxury spas, are also accessible in Queenstown.
There is even more! Get a glimpse of Auckland, New Zealand. Dine in at the Orbit 360 Dining Restaurant. It is awesome. Witness different views of Auckland as the restaurant orbits every hour. Taste the savoring mouthwatering best beef and lamb. Even go as for Bell Pepper and goats cheese. New Zealand definitely is a place of excitement, yet it is sexy, cold, and cozy. Seize the day with day without worry and enjoy New Zealand.
Hey Femm readers. Who here is a fan of Cinderella? Well, did you guys know this year marks Walt Disney’s 68th anniversary to the cartoon classic? Disney created their own version of the Charles Perrault Cinderella story back in 1950. Cinderella has been told and written by many different authors and countries around the world. In fact, the story has been retold and rewritten over three hundred times and still counting. It has been a film over a hundred times as well. The most recent of course would be the Disney live-action remake. Cinderella was the 12th Disney animated feature film and was directed by Clyde Geronimi, Hamilton Luske, and Wilfred Jackson. The film’s songs were done by Mack David, Jerry Livingston, and Al Hoffman.
Because of World War II the company had lost ties with its European audience and film market. They were also $4 million dollars in debt with their box office bombs Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi; films that would later become a success as re-releases in theaters. Cinderella was done by Walt’s group of animators known as the Nine Old Men, some of Disney’s original animators that helped to create Snow White. It took the team two years to create their cartoon version of Perrault’s Cendrillon. It was released in theaters on February 15th, 1950. The film became Disney’s biggest hit since Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and helped to bring Disney out of the hole.
Everyone loves the beloved classic and had been thrilled with the news of the remake. The remake itself came out 65 years after the original and lasted thirty-one minutes longer than the cartoon. There are even more differences between the classic and the remake. In the remake, we got a longer introduction about what happened to Ella’s mother, father, and how her father married the step-mother in the first place and why. Not to mention the Prince gets a longer and more detailed role in the remake as well as the King. I bet ya’ll don’t know this, but according to Disney wiki, the Prince’s real name from the cartoon was going to be Henry vs the live-action Kit. Whether you prefer the cartoon, the original, both, or a completely different version of the story there’s no doubt that Cinderella is a definitive tale. ‘til next time Femm heads.

Yes, there is a substantial high divorce rate in the United States, but people still marry, which is great because even if the marriage fails, at least the two can be grateful for a wonderful wedding and a superb honeymoon. So, let me stay focused on the positive, marriage that yields to pleasant harmonious honeymoons destinations, destinations that present new beginnings. With so much to do and so many places to go, there are some significant places: Prague, Costa Rica, and Las Vegas. Romance and excitement are filled in these places.
Prague – Why?
Adventurous and marvelous, Prague is remarkably beautiful and even more intriguing to visit with one you love. Romance waits within its picturesque classical castle buildings. Such as a royal king and queen, love can be experienced encircled by the many palaces. Standing before them all time can be forgotten while only the present moment is to be thought of and remembered. Amongst it attractive gardens and quiet atmosphere, it is perfect for the perfect kiss.
If Not Prague, Then Costa Rica (The Rich Coast)
Only about no more than 4 hours away from parts of the east coast (America), there are excellent deals to go to Costa Rica. The rainforests of Costa Rica and its elements of nature impose beauty upon all, leaving it to be a lovely experience for “lovers.” For newlyweds it is simply a prime place to celebrate new love. Holding hands on the pink and white sandy beaches upon the glorious sun enhance all the elements of love. Costa Rica is ideal to breathe in the fresh air of love.
Definitely Las Vegas
Always a blast, Las Vegas is full of fun. From the umpteenth number of casinos to the strip…and fabulous hotels, it too is a great destination for a honeymoon. Out of several fabulous hotels to stay in, the Bellagio Hotel is one of the best. This amazing hotel influenced by Lake Como of Bellagio, Italy sits before a lake between the strip and hotel, which leaves open options for entertainment and relaxation. Nearby attractions are Vegas shows and the Prime Steakhouse and the Yellow Tail Japanese Restaurant, and of course gambling. Also, if interacting is not on the agenda, staying at the hotel would be enough – a toast of champagne and a kiss to a new beginning.
Prague,Costa Rica, and Vegas are places for romance as they enhance all measure s of love while they are great destinations for new nuptials.

Hey, Femm readers and welcome back to my blog post. For this evening’s post, I wanted to share with you guys some news about the film, The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle. I know what you’re thinking. Is this another Eddie Murphy sequel or spin-off about his daughter doing his job? No, this one is going to star Robert Downey Jr. and will be focusing on the original story from the Dr. Dolittle book by Hugh Lofting. Downey will also be joined by a huge line up of stars that include, Emma Thompson, Selena Gomez, Rami Malek, Craig Robinson, Tom Holland, Octavia Spencer, and many more.
In Lofting’s original story Dr. John Dolittle is a simple country physician that prefers treating animals over humans any day; especially since he can talk to animals. He keeps goldfish in his pond, rabbits in his cabinets, and mice in his piano. One day Dolittle travels to Africa with his animal companions to help the gorillas that are suffering from an epidemic there. In the Eddie Murphy version, John Dolittle leads a perfectly charmed life. He’s a surgeon with a beautiful wife and two kids but all of that changed when he almost hit a dog driving down the road in the middle of the night. While the dog ran off Dolittle clearly hears the dog call him a bonehead.
Dolittle ends up adopting the dog, but it doesn’t take long for other animals to discover his ability. They mainly go to him for medical advice. It became more serious when he runs across a suicidal circus tiger. Dolittle wants to help the tiger but doesn’t know how. What’s worse is that his colleagues find out about him and claim he’s insane. It also didn’t help with the fact that his hospital was going through a huge business deal. Not to mention the risk of being put in a mental institution didn’t help his family dynamic either. In the end, people began to believe in him; especially when he discovered that the reason the tiger was suicidal was due to a blood clot in his brain.
The Eddie Murphy film was so popular that he did a sequel where he helps a bear to adjust to living in the wild. There have also been three spin-off movies that focused on his daughter Maya. Not much is known about Robert Downey Jr.’s film except that it will be closer to the book. I don’t know how close though. The film is expected to come out sometime in 2019 so we’ll have a while to wait. In the meantime, we’ll just have to enjoy his last two performances as Iron-man in the last two Avengers films. That’s all for this evening’s blog post. Hope you guys enjoyed and had a wonderful day. ‘til next time.
It’s the Friday after drag race so you know what that means? You get read my recap of Rupaul’s Drag race –insert music here- .
Alright let’s kick it off. After last week’s elimination of Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, we come into the work room and immediately wigs are getting snatched by the Vixen. Labeled as the “whistle blower” of the season the Vixen want to air some things out between Miz Cracker, and Aquaria. Pretty much what went down, she wanted a blow out between the two because Aquaria wasn’t too happy with Miz Cracker using the same eyebrows….because I mean eyebrows right? Well, she tries to sugar coat the story and the Vixen just went, Naw, this is what was really said. There was no real drama between the two queens minus Miz cracker stating she would never do something like that to anyone, as she wants to win with her own looks. Smart girl, smart.
Next item on the list, the mini challenge. Now this mini challenge consisted of the queens getting in 20 minute drag then having a “hay” day while dancing in front of judges Rupaul, and Andy Cohen. I have to say, this is probably the best quick drag I’ve seen on this show at this point. Once the challenge was over two winners were picked. The Vixen and Asia O’Hara.
Now why two winners, well because the maxi challenge is a team challenge. Now it’s time to pick the teams.
On Team Asia: we have Aquaria, Kalorie, Eureka, Yuha, Dusty and Monique.
On team Vixen: Kameron, Monet, Cracker, Blair, Mayhem.
So what is the challenge? Let me answer that for you right now; parmarusical, a parody production put on the queens choreographed by none other than Alyssa Edwards. This musical showcases made up medications for drag queens. From Swalloease, to a pill that shrinks a drag queens… well it’s a pill that make tucking a bit easier. We will go with that. So, both teams perform then walk down the runway in their best drag.
Now time for the tops and bottoms: The winning team was the Vixen’s as they were on top of their game, while The Vixen won the entire challenge as leader. One not to be messed with The Vixen is.
So, the bottom two came down to Kalorie and Eureka. This makes Kalorie’s second time in the bottom in two weeks. Will she be able to outperform Eureka? Unfortunately no. Kalorie Karbdashian was asked to sashay away at the end of the night, making it the second elimination I agree with this season.
All in all, I just don’t think it’s her time, but she’s an amazing queen, and I look forward to seeing what she does after the show.

Jim Carrey recently painted a provocative portrait of Donald Trump eating ice cream with his chest exposed titled: "You Scream I Scream. Will We Ever Stop Screaming". He joked that it should be put up as the official portrait of the 45th in the Smithsonian gallery. In skill, Jim Carrey's work is very impressive, especially since he's known previously and widely for his acting (The Mask, Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, The Grinch). I prefer not to ruin your eyes right away; the painting looks as repulsive as it sounds, but you can check it out here.
This isn't Carey's first painting of Trump. The most recent one is slightly more bearable to set your eyes on.
Through his arts, Jim Carrey has been outspoken on political issues like gun control and corruption in the national office. His art heavily reflects his political grievances.
His more recent work on screen in 2017 was as one of the creators of the Showtime series "Dying up Here". Unfortunately, I was living under a rock at that time and did not have access to the Showtime channel and did not get to witness it. Either way, he is currently in pre-production for a TV Series "Kidding". There is no release date for that at this time, however, according to IMDB, it would be sometime this year.
Hey Femm readers. I’m here to talk about Say Yes to the Dress’s Randy Fenoli. Fenoli is the head fashion director and consultant at Kleinfeld Bridal Salon in New York City, New York. Fenoli has always felt a passion for helping brides to find the right gown for their special day. Mainly, a gown that would help the bride feel beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. He also had a desire for fashion when he was only nine years old. He went to the Fashion Institute of Technology, FIT, where he won several awards for designs and achievements.
After working at Kleinfeld's for years Fenoli states on the show that he always saw brides come in who wanted a high-end couture looking dress but couldn’t afford it. So, if you’ve been watching this season’s Say Yes to the Dress then you know that Fenoli just got back into design. He wanted to make these couture dresses for brides but for a fraction of the cost. The cheapest is about $7,500 and can cost up to $23,000. Sometimes, depending on the designer, a dress could cost $300,000 or more. That’s why Fenoli is only selling his around $1,700 to $2,000 dollars.
Throughout this season of the show, there have been various stages of Fenoli’s designs. He first talked to his friends and co-workers about his idea and went to his bosses on the show and pitched his idea to them. They were very encouraging and asked him to make three dresses first to see how well they would sell in the store before he launched a full line. During the next few episodes, the audience would see Randy’s sketches and three final designs that went out on the floor. Several people bought his dresses on the show and off the show to the point that he was approved to launch his whole line. During the most recent episode, Fenoli premiered his new line during a fashion show event where his Brandi gown was the show-stopping finale.
I watched the episode myself and let me tell you something. Those gowns are gorgeous! There isn’t one that I didn’t like. Even the ones I personally wouldn’t wear were breathtaking. I even cried a little when Fenoli cried because I was so happy for him. He was ecstatic to get back into design and that the fashion show was a big hit. Everyone loved his dresses and enjoyed the show. Well, that’s all for this blog post. ‘til next time. Here’s a link to the website so you guys can check out all the gowns for yourself. https://www.brides.com/gallery/new-randy-fenoli-for-kleinfeld-wedding-dresses-spring-2018

Todrick Hall's shared the visual album for his piece of lyrical, satirical genius Forbidden. On the first night of the Forbidden tour and the middle of RuPaul's drag race, Todrick shared the entirety of the visual album via Twitter. With Forbidden already reaching number one on iTunes pop chart within days of release I already had my hopes high for the visual album.
The visual album is just over an hour and a half long, so you may want to sit down with popcorn for it. The opening credits creatively placed on vintage pantry food items; "Cinn-a-matography" (cinnamon) for the cinematographer for example. It takes place in the utopia called "Nacarima", which sets the whole tone of the visual album and explains the title of the album itself: Forbidden is shown backwards, just as "Nacarima" is America backwards. We notice also that the first incident in the opening of the song, "Ordinary Day", takes place on the street call "Novyart", backwards, for Trayvon. A song/visual that particularly stands out and sums up the meaning behind the album directly and indirectly. "Ordinary Day" is an upbeat song, with seemingly positive lyrics. The words however, hold double meaning. Without giving away too much, the issues in Nacarima are "swept under the rug". Heterosexuality is considered illegal and forbidden, and homosexuality is perfectly normal. Overall, the message behind the album is enhanced by the visual album, exhibiting the ugly truths in a backwards reality of America.
The visual is full of Todrick in full drag, and decked out in celebrities. One of the first we see is Brandy, singing to a baby boy, wearing all white in a sea of other women in white. This is where I had one grievance about the entire visual album: there were a few points Brandy's baby was visibly a doll. It was minor and easily forgiven. To name a few, appearances included: Tamar Braxton, Tiffany Haddish, Jenifer Lewis, Tre Melvin, Kway, and drag queen, Shangela Laquifa of RuPaul's Drag race. By the end of the piece, we see Todrick's character, Nolan Renner, writing in a journal titled "Black Picket Fence", before he is hanged for heterosexuality. As a whole, Todrick proves himself as a phenomenal performer in this soul moving visual.
My proudest accomplishments will always be following my heart. Maybe someday this world will try as hard to find our similarities as we do to make enemies of those who are different. Maybe someday we will look at those who think and love differently as a beautiful and complimentary hue of hearts. - Todrick Hall - Forbidden

The Cost of Things
An exciting global economy allows some of us to easily enjoy the luxury and satisfaction of life. While we are able to enjoy these things, they can be expensive. Entertainment, food, clothing and vacation are many things we live for. Prices for the mentioned “things” and other “things” rarely seem to decrease. They tend rise daily. It costs to live.
How Much Does it Cost?
While we love seeing the latest movies on a big screen in a theatre, the average price of a movie is about $15.00 per person, not let alone the price of food (a meal and a drink) is about $25.00. This equals $40.00 per person, which could fill up tank of gas in some smaller vehicles. Dining out and shopping are also great entertainment, yet they can be pricey as well. Consider dining out, the average price for a plate for dinner and a beverage is nearly $30. Lastly, shopping can be expensive as it is required for many things.
What is it (What is included)?
There are benefits to spending for the things we love. Of course they make us happy and forget the many that things do not. Vendors become richer, and we the buyers are satisfied. In a sense that spending keeps us psychologically full of joy.
What are the Extra Costs to Think About?
Our basic necessities outweigh our many unnecessary desires. Food, clothing and shelter are what we should be focusing our attention on, rather than attempting to buy new things and look rich or seem rich. If we are spending our money on extra items and cannot afford basic necessities, then we should consider cutting back. Happiness is important, but common sense is also. So, we should think about making wise decisions when considering being happy or without, which could make us unhappy.
What are Some Tips?
Usually we dread to think about budgeting. In order to still enjoy life, with decreasing our spending, we make changes. For example we can have social activities at our homes. Small or big gatherings are always fun. Instead of spending money on $40.00 movie (basically), watching movies at home would be a great substitute. Also reading books can be a great source of enjoyment while it also improves reading skills; joining book clubs are even exciting. If we think before spending, we can balance life, our income and our social lives.
How Can I Save Money?
While prices continue to increment, we have to make wise choices. So, we must first decide what is most important. In reality, food, clothing and shelter are a must. So, we can obviously put those first on our list when spending. Though we need basic necessities, we also need joy to fulfill our lives. In turn, we should always include our interest and hobbies.
Because life is complex when it comes to finances, establishing a budget is always an excellent idea before considering to even spending a penny. In addition with budgeting, it is wise to review our “wants” and “needs” along with our spending habits. Save receipts, bank statements, financial records, then decipher what is a “want” or a “need” Once you have decided which one it is, then you can determine how to spend in the future. Most of all we should not be full greed; instead we should be wise and sensible with our money.

Today when I got home from class, I turn on the TV and saw that a good throwback was on Rush Hour 2. Watching the movie got my thoughts going about the whole trilogy Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, and Rush Hour 3. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker really made their marks in cinema history with these films, in my opinion. The martial arts/action comedy buddy cop film series started in 1998 and gain great success from the start. In 1995 screenwriter Ross LaManna began the script for the first Rush Hour and was finished by Jim Kouf. The two did a wonderful job with story line of the film and the development of the jokes, of course.
The casting within the film was also amazing because the two had such great chemistry playing Chief Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker). The story follows the two cops as they rescue the daughter of the Chinese consul Solon Han (Tzi Ma) who was kidnapped. From the start of the movie to the end the action was great, the comedy was on point, and the story line kept interest. The movie started with a $33 million budget and did very well in box offices. During it's opening weekend they hit number 1 in North America bringing in $140 million in box office sales and $103 million in the rest of the world. The film currently holds a 60% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and received an "A" grade on an audience poll conducted by CinemaScore.
The second Rush Hour is the best one in my opinion simply because I enjoyed the jokes more. Released in 2001, Rush Hour 2 followed the same two lovable cop buddies for a new case. The story was written by Jeff Nathanson who did very well with the plot and jokes within the movie. Inspector Lee and Detective Carter discover that the Hong Kong gang, the Triads, are involved with a counterfeit scam. The two really grew as friends on and off camera and I believe it truly showed within the film. The film did very well and eventually surpassed the first film in it's total earnings. During open weekend the film brought in over $67 million in box office sales and ended up becoming the 5th highest grossing domestic film of 2001.
The Last Rush Hour was not a favorite for me and I'm not sure why. Although the chemistry between the two is still there, the story line just didn't keep me too interested. Released in 2007, Rush Hour 3, followed the two as they team up to stop the Triads for good. Although it did well in box offices sales, but could only earn a 19% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. As a series the film did a great job and there's even talk of releasing a Rush Hour 4, it has even been talked about by Chris Tucker himself stating that he wants to give us "the rush of all rushes." If it really happens will that be in your "must see" list or no?
Hey Femm readers. For this evening’s article I wanted to talk about American Idol’s comeback. The show first aired on Fox in June 2002 and aired its last episode on
Fox and ended in April of 2016. The show consisted of fifteen consecutive seasons on Fox until it began to lose its viewers and rating after the failed judge panel that contained Mariah Carey and Niki Manji. A lot of people loved Idol because not only did it help produce amazing musical talent, but it also helped give chances to people that came from all walks of life. When the last episode aired, and the confetti was done falling Ryan Seacrest stood on stage as the lights when off when the audience heard him say ‘til next time.
This remark confused a lot of viewers. Most people thought he didn’t want to really say good-bye others thought he miss read his line or that he was just used to saying that at the end of each season. Only a few people guessed that Seacrest was hinting at the continuation of the series. Seacrest was correct in his statement because a year after the show was no longer on Fox it was announced that they would be doing another season on another network in time. The network that took Idol on was ABC. Idol just recently aired a few weeks ago on March 11th with 10.3 million views and having a rating 2.3 which is up to par with NBC’s last season of The Voice.
According to these ratings the Idol relaunch isn’t a huge spectacle to behold however, it’s not a total failure either. The show just finished with its auditions and is now heading into Hollywood week. This seasons judges consist of Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. So far, most viewers seem to enjoy the trio. They are all experienced in the music industry and rightfully so but what I personally like about them is that they don’t have any drama between them.
They rarely fight or get too angry with on another. I’m also glad the show is back because it really does help to give opportunities to people who would otherwise severely struggle trying to break into the music industry without Idol’s training, help, and recognition. I mean look what it did for winners and contestants like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Chris Daughtry, Jordan Sparks, Fantasia, and others. To me it just has a more personal and heartfelt touch to it that makes it different to other shows like it. That’s all for this post ‘til next time.
Who here remembers the Never-Ending Story trilogy? For most of us, this film was a part of our childhood. The magic of a kid escaping his world and into a book’s world while befriending a dragon that helped him on an adventure for an empress was such a classic. Well, I’m here to tell you that there’s a remake of the film in development right now. I know some are you are probably upset that they’re redoing a classic childhood movie but at least wait to see the trailer first before not giving it a chance. You know, don’t knock it ‘til you try it.
For those of you who don’t remember the plot or haven’t seen the movie trilogy yet here’s a plot summary for you. The plot follows the life of a boy named Bastian Balthazar Bux who often faces bullies every day at school. One day he discovers a book that contains a parallel universe. The more he immerses himself in the story the more his life becomes intertwined with the plot of the book. The plot tells the story of a hero who is supposed to save the realm of Fantasia on behalf of an empress. After I saw the A Wrinkle in Time remake, along with the other remakes such as Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and the Jungle Book I can say that the remake will bring better graphics to the story. Not to worry though, they probably won’t change the plot too much.
I mainly want to see what Falkor will look like since he was a puppet in the original. I also think this story should be told to a generation that might not know about it yet since it still covers important topics and situations kids face today. Situations like how to deal with bullies and discovering yourself. It also teaches kids that books are a great escape from reality but also great teachers that can help you understand the world around you. Especially if the book character relates to you in some way or you look up to the protagonists in the book. This film is still in development so there won’t be a release date or trailer out anytime soon.

Donald Glover, director and creator of the FX Series, Atlanta, and now formerly a writer for a Deadpool animated television series, has shared the mock script he was working on via Twitter. There was speculation it was an actual script, but it was simply written to prove a point.
According to "Deadline" FX announced previously: “Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series. FX will no longer be involved with the project.” If you've seen Atlanta or any of Glover's stand up comedy you may understand why. With out citing the entire snippet of the script it, like any Deadpool piece of work, breaks the fourth wall multiple times poking fun at the cancellation of the show. It also mentions the far-fetched notion that some bit Beyonce. Unfortunately the tweets have since been deleted, but they are available on multiple platforms. (Sorry Gambino)
(Tiffany Haddish spills the tea AGAIN; #WhoBitBeyonce)
Perhaps it was too soon to mention the last male rhino? His writing give the reader the sense that he writes he Deadpool's role as if it were himself: "(clarifying) I am an amazing rapper...," he wrote. "You know I'm not mad about this whole 'cancelled' thing. I actually think it's a good thing. I mean is it even a good time to have a violent, gun loving white man ranting on TV? ...Other than the president?"
His script, which he claims was written in a matter of 24 hours to prove a point to FX, continues on, speculating why the show may have been cancelled in Deadpool's voice; one of the reasons: alienating the "white audience", too many urban references. While it was a hilarious and heavy punching read, I am sad to see FX has cancelled the show. He would have been an excellent choice. There has been no word yet if the animated series will happen with different writers or if it's totally scrapped for now.

Are we controlling the many technological devices by the buttons, the apps, the emails that we frequently purchase, or…are they controlling us? Each decade technology advances; it seems to be almost erasing human intelligence. It is somewhat like a harmless epidemic or plague that inundates the minds of many as a mastermind to make us dependent on it. We live to have the newest devices and the features regardless of the price.
With technology’ s creativity and innovativeness that captivates everyone’s attention, it is almost an addiction of the millennium. It is shaping our future, especially with the technological device, the cell phone. Cell phones just about shape our lives from dawn until dusk. We depend on them greatly. They are our wallets, purses, clocks, radios, and even companion when we don’t have anyone to talk to. They are our constant attachment to the hip while difficult to separate from at any given moment.
Over the years with the progression of cell phones we have learned to love, cherish, and admire them while use them excessively. The more that they advance, the more we are drawn to them for entertainment and enjoyment. As the inventions improve rapidly we stand impatiently waiting for the next device to arrive on the shelf such as myself.
Curiosity prompted me to research the future of cell phones. Amazingly I found that the sophistication of computer science is driving advancement to the point where we will no longer need a physical screen to operate. The cell phone can be in clothing, for example. Also, are we so lucky that we will not have worry about charging our phones? Yes, we are! We can look forward to solar energy and kinetic energy to use our phones.
Lastly, amazing flexibility will be used for accommodating the handling of the device. Nokia’s Morph technology will most likely allow the phone to bend in some forms such as a bracelet or to fold and place it in the pocket. These are only a few features, but they are more than simply cool! However, after my research I concluded that the advancement is truly astonishing, but at the same time if cell phones are getting so smart with artificial intelligence, then what is happening to us as humans? Hmm…. I wonder as they orchestrate our daily lives and will do so even more in the future if will we eventually evolve into cell phones.

Good evening you guys. For this evening’s post, I’d like to share with you a story about the South Korean cellist Aaron Kim, aka Tacit, who makes electronic music in Dubai. After Kim discovered he had a critical condition that leads to hearing loss, he wondered whether he needed to stop playing music altogether or shift his focus to helping produce music in Dubai’s underground music world.
Kim has been living in Dubai for nine years and not only has a career as a cellist but also works in sound design and makes electronic music. Even though Kim enjoys playing the cello, a more classical instrument, he prefers electronic music since there are zero rules to follow when it comes to making it. It has 100% free creativity unlike classical music that is super strict. Kim loves traveling to various places in Dubai to record authentic sounds, like ocean waves, so he can take it back home and combine it with his very granulated cello sound. Kim himself believes that the backbone of every great city or town is music and art.
Kim is excited that he gets to grow and create music in Dubai’s underground music world because it’s still new and growing as well. One of his favorite record stores that his friend, Shadi runs is called The Flip Side. Shadi was the first person to open a record store in Dubai. I checked out the website for the store, and it looks like a cool place to go. I’ll leave a link to it down below. Kim believes that music is the backbone of every city in the world and that’s why he loves Dubai so much. That’s all for this blog post ‘til next Femm readers.
Who here has heard of the name Steven Spielberg or George Lucas? Most of you know exactly who I’m talking about or at least you might know their films like E.T., Star Wars, the Jurassic Park trilogy and their combined work on Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Land Before Time. Maybe you’ve even heard their names on an episode of the Big Bang Theory. Even if you’re not sure their names ring a bell, right? Well, what about the name Kathleen Kennedy? I’m guessing unless you’re an absolute die-hard nerd/geek with a lot of films know how most of you have no clue who I’m talking about and that’s what this blog post will focus on.
Kennedy has produced around 77 films throughout her 44-year career. Most of those films she was alongside Spielberg and Lucas every step of the way. She helped to produce E.T., the Jurassic Park trilogy, The Land Before Time and was an assistant to Spielberg for Raiders of the Lost Ark and producer to the other Indiana Jones films. This woman has been with these two for most of their major motion pictures that have become academy acclaimed. In fact, Kennedy is now the president of Lucasfilm and has been producing the new Star Wars series including Rouge One and the new Han Solo film. She’s also produced The Sixth Sense, Girl on the Train, and more.
Despite all her success and being the most high-volume female producer in Hollywood she still can’t seem to get out of the shadows of her two male companions who helped to get her career started in the first place. Kennedy is 62 years young, but Hollywood would say a woman at this age is going downhill and won’t be able to stay in the industry. But thanks to Lucas and Spielberg she’s gone from sectary to studio president, however, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t had to work hard to get there. In fact, after Lucas brought Kennedy to the company he sold the studio to Disney. It was Kennedy who worked on the reboot of the series and brought the studio and franchise out of its ten years of sitting on the shelf.
Because of this Kennedy has managed to shine some light passed Lucas’s and Spielberg’s shadow. However, if we’re talking money she’s still left completely in the dark. Kennedy’s net worth is only 1.5 million. I know to the average person that’s a huge net worth but compared to Spielberg’s 3.6 billion and Lucas’s 5 billion it falls short. True she’s only just recently become the president of the studio, but one could only imagine how much more her net worth would be if she were male. During Women’s history month, that will be ending soon, it’s important to acknowledge that we still have a long way to go with gender equality, especially when it comes to equal pay and recognition in the work force. That’s what the blog post’s aim was, to help shed some light on Kathleen Kennedy and her success for those of you who didn’t know and to celebrate a successful woman during Women’s history month.

So my thoughts before going to deep into this trailer, I really thought this was going to be like a romantic action movie. I thought that Mila Kunis was going to be the ex-girlfriend of Kate McKinnon, and they break-up because McKinnon's life as a spy is way to dangerous for Kunis and somehow or another she gets wrapped up in said danger. Never the less and the movie is filled with ex-partner banter, weapon jargon, action, reconciliation and both of them taking down the villain together. It's not, it's an action comedy but that rocks too. I loved Melissa McCarthy in Spy, in 2015. I loved that it was about a woman almost single handedly being a bad-ass and solving her case. There were a lot of groundbreaking tropes used in that movie that made it stand out. The first being a female lead in a spy movie, and also that she's not the average woman in a size 2- 8 dress size. Plus being wildly funny and ending with the female lead finding her own happiness outside of a man. Very nice.
The spy who dumped me has a similar genre, of an action comedy. It centers on Mila Kunis the ex-girlfriend of the male spy in this movie with McKinnon as her partner traversing the dangerous adventure ahead. It looks fun and light. The fact that it's a mostly female cast is great. The jokes set up within the trailer consists on the, rookies find out how hard a job is, type jokes. What intrigues me to watch this movie is the plot. I'm hoping, like in the movie Spy the ending will surprise me.
The most alluring thing a woman can have is Confidence – Beyoncé
Women all around the world are being celebrated this month because it’s Women's History Month. Women are God’s finest and beautiful creation and as givers of life there would be no life without women. I’ve been asking myself all day what feminism means to me and I’d like to share my thoughts.
A feminist is defined as a person who believes in the social, political, and economical equality of the sexes. I can’t help finding myself quoting Beyoncé when it comes to my feminist views. “We teach girls to have ambition but not too much, aim to be successful but not too successful otherwise you will threaten the man.” Women have been fighting for equality since the beginning of time from the suffrage movement, to gaining the right to vote, to the Lily Ledbetter Act. We’ve definitely come a long way but we have so much further to go. Women are one of the strongest creatures on earth. They tried to bury us but didn’t know we were seeds. Behind every successful woman is a tribe of successful women who have her back. So let’s celebrate our beautiful friendships today!! I could rattle off quotes all day but I’ll leave you with one of my favorites.
“I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.”
With the 2018 NBA Draft coming up this June, potential NBA prospects start to make their intentions known and make themselves eligible to be selected. LiAngelo Ball, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball, has officially declared for this years upcoming NBA Draft.
Ball is a 6'5" shooting guard with an excellent ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter. He is expected to work out for a few NBA teams as well as participate in the Professional Basketball Combine in May. Ball currently plays in the Lithuanian Basketball League for the Vytautas Prienu. He made the announcement just hours before today's game against Guangdong Southern Tigers, a Big Baller Brand Challenge game. He scored an impressive 72 points.
LiAngelo Ball was initially supposed to attend UCLA for a least a year before exploring his professional career. However, he was involved in a shoplifting scandal while UCLA visited China, and subsequently was suspended indefinitely. LiAngelo's father, Lavar Ball, withdrew him from the institution soon after the situation settled.
Despite LiAngelo Ball appearing to be an interesting prospect in terms of being a perimeter scoring wing, he is not quite athletic enough yet to compete at the NBA level. If he can develop more in that area and be more consistent scoring inside the paint, he could be a very serviceable player someday.

Who here is a fan of an actor with the first name of Tom? Whether it’s Tom Hanks, Cruise, Felton, Welling, Ellis, or Mison there’s plenty of talented actors out there with the name Tom. But there are three Tom’s that I would like to focus on this blog. Those three would be Tom Hiddleston, Tom Holland, and Tom Hardy. Each actor has their own uniqueness and talents that separate them but there are a lot of things that make them similar; besides their initials of course. For one thing, they’re all British with brown almost blonde hair, charming smile, and they all know how to rock a good suit.
But what also ties them together is the Marvel Brand. Much like the Chris’s who is a well-known Marvel trio, these Toms are the new trio to come from the brand. Tom Hiddleston is the veteran of the group with five Marvel films under his belt thanks to his show-stopping performance of the character Loki. Despite being younger and still being new to the film industry compared to both Hiddleston and Hardy, young Holland is like the middle child of the group. Holland has been in three Marvel films as the adorable and inspiring Spider-Man. Hardy is the new comer to the Marvel franchise with his role of playing the Spider-Man Villain Venom.
We’ve already seen Hiddleston’s and Holland’s performance of their Marvel characters, so it will be interesting to see what Hardy will bring to the table. Hardy has played a comic book villain before with his role as Bane. Bane was a massive looking guy with a face problem and was a terrorist who had more smarts to take over Gotham than previous villains. However, Bane is nothing like the character Eddie Brock/Venom. Other than his new role I hope to see these three together in interviews and cons together to see what their relationships would be like. When the Chris’s get together they all basically act like children and lifelong friends.
They laugh, they joke, they tease each other, and bring joy to their fans. I personally think the Tom’s would get along great. Each one is a British gentleman and they all have a big heart and warm personality. I’d love to see what they could bring out in each other. Unfortunately, we won’t see what their characters will look like on screen together in the MCU but perhaps we could see them together in a different film/franchise. Maybe the trio of Chris’s could be in it too. Well, that’s all for this blog post ‘til next time.
Vision and Scarlet Witch's relationship could be in danger in the upcoming film: Avengers: Infinity War
With only a month away, The Hype for Avengers: Infinity War is growing. Not that it didn’t grow once the first trailer dropped, but now it’s getting real. Part one of the two-part film is being released April 27, 2018. I suggest catching up on your Marvel universe films because this is going to be an epic.
Check out the latest trailer below!
As we all know, the Scarlet Witch and Vision has had a budding romance through this series, well in a recent interview with i09 Bettany (Vision) stated: their relationship will add a new stake to Avengers: Infinity War.
Commenting on what Bettany said, Olson (Scarlet Witch) said that “It just feels like you have something really specific to work with all the time. That feels nice. There’s an anchor point to everything which is what you’re constantly looking for when you’re doing these movies… You have your partner, your life partner with you by your side, and that creates a different kind of stakes, as well.”
Come on, how cute, and I'm worried tragic is that?
I mean, We don’t necessarily know what the stakes are or how Vision is going to be affected, but I believe adding this story to the film will make a deep connection to the two characters, if you haven’t already fallen in love with them.
Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to open: April 27, 2018. Tickets are on sale now.

Where in the world has Carmen Sandiego been? The answer: in the 80s and 90s, but no more! Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) is co producing and portraying Carmen Sandiego in a live action film with video streaming giant Netflix. There is no particular release date at this time besides sometime this year. There is also no information on who will be directing or writing the film, but Rodriguez's co producers, along with her company "I Can and I Will productions", with be Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser.
Gina Rodriguez will voice Carmen Sandiego in a children series that has been set for sometime in 2019 will also stream on Netflix. It is unclear of the exact release date of the children's series but there is a description of the series listed on Netflix. Should you open Netflix app on your gaming console it will only reflect a blank screen, I'm assuming because it is too early to have a full or even partial trailer.
Carmen Sandiego is depicted as a villain in the original stories, so I am curious to see what direct the film will take, whether that be catered to children or taking the rating up to R with heavy in action and scandals. A live action film has so much potential, especially with the technology available. I am excited to see what her gadgets will look like with a modern twist.
...this series follows her new international capers as well as past escapades that led straight to her becoming a super thief." - Netflix 2018
Before the film comes out it would be a good idea to take a walk down nostalgia lane, to think about the Saturday mornings where a thief could teach children geography. The show was an adaptation of of the computer games in the 90s, which eventually turned into books. Though "Carmen Sandiego" can be found on the world wide web and in stores, according to Huffington Post, books are to be promoted around the time of the film's release. Enjoy the full theme song below
