All most three decades ago I was grocery shopping when a man approached me. He said, “You have beautiful hair.” I replied coyly, “Thank you.”
His hair was thick, long, and black like mine was at the time. After he complimented me he stared at me for moment. Then, he proceeded to speak. “You should use yucca roots for your hair. It will make it even more pretty.”
I just smiled, and said, “Okay.” I did not even know what yucca roots were. I just finished my shopping and from that day never followed his suggestion until twenty years later.
For some reason I did not forget that day. During the timespan from that day to the latter years, I had been experimenting with my hair in all sorts of ways. I was trying to find out how to make my hair flawless in the process of transitioning from a chemical relaxer to natural afro-wavy hair.
I tried many products from beauty supplies stores. Most of them did not work. I did not achieve what I desired. So, my thoughts retracted back to the day I was in the grocery store, “yucca roots!” I thought. I would give it try.
I remembered the process that the man explained how to create the formula. The directions were easy and exact. So I peeled and boiled the yucca roots until they became soft, which made the water sudsy. I then washed my hair! Just as the man stated, it was lustrous and strong displaying a healthy look.
Still a little apprehensive I worried what would happen to my hair since I had never done that before, so I googled ‘yucca roots and hair’ finding that they are beneficial to the hair. They have been used for many years and are a derivation of Native American plants that have been used to accomplish flawless-looking hair.
I also found out, through research that, it acts like a cleansing agent and eliminates dandruff. It also promotes hair growth and gives it sheen. The yucca root also stops hair loss.
Yucca root is wonderful to use. There is more information on yucca and how to use it for hair shampoo and other remedies aside from hair. If you would like to do further research, go ahead, and I am sure you will find out that it is absolutely great!
