Last night as I was scrolling through Netflix trying to find something to turn on so I can doze off to it. Then I stumbled on this amazing thriller flick called Bad Match. This film was released in November of last year and I didn't think it would have as many plot twists as it did. Director David Chirchirillo did a wonderful job with the production of this movie and this is only the third film that he's directed.
The story follows Harris (Jack Cutmore-Scott) who spends his days playing video games and finding women on dating apps to hook up with. After he attempts to have a one night stand with his new prospect Riley (Lili Simmons) she begins to want a little more. Riley begins to call him every day and text nonstop. After ignoring her for so long, Harris finds out that Riley attempts suicide because of the rejection. After rushing to her house he finds out that she was faking her suicide and he wants nothing to do with her after that.
This is when things in his life start getting weird and things start to fall apart. First, he's fired from his job after being hacked from a remote location, then the police show up at his house the next day to arrest him. They show up because they had received information that some illegal child pornography had been downloaded to an IP address that matched his. Harris denied the allegations and the cops eventually found the evidence on his laptop and arrested him. His lawyer tells him that it would be better if confessed because he has no proof that anyone hacked him.
After Harris is arrested, this is when the story starts to get even more crazy! I won't go into details about how, but the movie is definitely a worthy watch. The movie took a lot of unexpected turns and I believe the cast and production team on this movie did a great job, and I'm not the only one that thinks so. The movie currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and in many ways the movie is worthy of it's rating.
