It appears the era of remakes, reboots, and spin offs is living on as Disney is about to release a 101 Dalmatian cartoon series that’s based off the 1961 film. This new series is expected to air sometime next year and is called 101 Dalmatian Street. The show is being directed by Miklos Weigert who was a storyboard artist and supervisor for the animated series Nexo Knights. The production team will be led by Passion Animation who’ve recently done the Rocket & Groot and Ant-Man shorts. It turns out that this new series will be a short series as well with 48 episodes only lasting eleven minutes each.
However, there will be two double-length special episodes as well. This new series is set in 21st century Camden Town, London England. The plot follows the family of the 101 Dalmatians who all have names beginning with the letter D. Interesting enough these dogs are actually the descendants of the original 101. In fact, the parents Doug and Delilah are the direct descendants of Pongo and Perdita.
The oldest siblings are Dylan and Dolly. Dylan is a control freak and a perfectionist that likes to keep things in order. On the other hand, his sister Dolly is a rebellious tomboy that loves to have fun. Together they try to keep their other siblings and whole household in line while their parents are busy at work. Other pups include Dante, D.J., Dorothy, Delgado, Dawkins, Da Vinci, and more. This mini-series seems interesting but let’s hope it’s not ruined much like other remakes such as Teen Titans, Scooby-Doo, Powerpuff Girls, the new Star Wars films and cartoon series.
